What Inspired Me to Start a Business Teaching Kids the Fundamentals of Baseball and Softball

My passion to play, learn and coach this game started with my first coach, my dad. Baseball has been a part of my life for as long as I can remember. I fell in love with baseball because I was fortunate to have great coaches to learn the game from, It wasn’t until my kids started playing that I realized how much of a need there is to teach aspiring ballplayers core skills that will grow with them. It’s what inspired me to take the leap and start a business dedicated to teaching young children the fundamental skills of baseball and softball

Why coach this age group?

When I first started coaching, I worked with athletes of all ages and skill levels. While it was rewarding to coach older players, I quickly found that there was something special about working with younger children. Their energy, excitement, and willingness to learn was contagious. I love seeing the lightbulb moments when they gras a new skill, and start to enjoy the game the way I do.

What struck me most was how much these kids needed a solid foundation. I realized that without proper training in the fundamentals at an early age, many young athletes would struggle as they progressed. This need, combined with my passion for teaching, was what ultimately inspired me to focus on building a program for young children.

More Than Just a Sport

One of the most rewarding aspects of coaching young children is witnessing their personal growth. Teaching baseball and softball fundamentals isn’t just about creating better athletes—it’s about building character. Through the game, kids learn patience, resilience, and the importance of practice. They develop a love for the process, not just the outcome, and that’s something I take pride in fostering.
